MDI (Marcel Desrochers Inc.) has developed, after several years of research, a screen frame for medium to large fornat cinema installations. This system consists of a structure which is self standing, a masking system of not only side movable screen masking but also screen top and bottom, a section for masking motors and an automation system that enables easy control of the masking curtains.

One big difference with the MDI system is that, at installation, no modification of parts is required. The MDI system has been specifically designed to fit in the room and go together very easily.

The MDI Structure was specifically designed to support a complete masking system safely and efficiently. This structure is composed of steel beams and uprights which are assembled on site. The system is ready to be installed, as soon as it is out of the box; no changes to the system are required because it has been designed to fit in YOUR theatre. Our team puts great efforts in the design of the system, so it is very easy to assemble by the installation crew. This means a lot of time and money is saved in the installation process.

With a minimum of tools, a small crew, can install a MDI Structure without the use of scaffolding. No need to rent, assemble, disassemble and transport scaffolding system.

The MDI Strucuture is composed of parts which have been designed to be installed with ease; MDI uses a minimum of different dimension parts to facilitate the installation. Some parts have been designed so they cannot be damaged during transport; this is convenient for structure installation.
